G. Troy Thames

Troy Thames is an experienced trial lawyer with a diverse civil practice representing large corporations, small businesses, and individuals.  The majority of his practice involves assisting clients involved in litigation related to transportation, construction, and personal injury.  He is also experienced in maritime law, insurance coverage matters, and government contract and fiscal law.

Since graduating from law school, he has practiced throughout South Carolina and has tried numerous cases to verdict as the lead attorney.  He also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, including both mediation and arbitration.  Troy considers his role as both advocate and counselor, and therefore works closely with clients to accommodate their needs and objectives, while determining the most effective and efficient ways to handle their case.

Troy began his professional career as a soldier, serving in the U.S. Army as a field artillery officer at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, until deciding to return to school to obtain his law degree.  He continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves and deployed with the 3rd Infantry Division to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  In addition to his civilian practice with Turner Padget, Troy is currently a Lieutenant Colonel serving as a Reserve JAG officer with the U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne).
